How Coach Keeps Your Information Safe

At CareerVillage, your privacy matters. When you chat with Coach, you might sometimes share personal information, like a phone number or ID number. We have built safeguards to protect that information while still making sure Coach can help you.

What happens if you share personal information?

If Coach detects highly sensitive information, such as a phone number, Social Security number, passport number, or driver’s license number, we automatically:

  • Replace it in the chat with placeholder text

  • Prevent it from being stored in chat history

  • Keep it out of AI model systems

If the information is needed to complete a request, such as updating your profile, it is stored and retrieved securely using systems designed specifically for that purpose, not inside chat messages.

In some cases, we may partially redact information. For example, Coach may keep your city or ZIP code to provide useful career guidance, while removing street-level details.

Why do we do this?

We take these steps to:

  • Protect you if someone else accesses your account

  • Reduce the amount of sensitive data stored in chat history

  • Comply with privacy laws, including the right to request deletion of your data

  • Limit what is shared with third-party AI providers
